Summon necro doesn't seem to need resist too much due to having all the time in the world to spam curses, curses don't scale in damage, corpse explosion doesn't scale in damage etc. I'm wondering if a similar thing can be done, such as making a Splendor shield out of a white shrunken head with, say, +3 raise skeleton, skele mastery, and skele mage (or more realistically some of those skills). I had a very hard time trying to replacing it for better damage and actually ended up switching it out due to wanting more resistance. I previously made a sorceress and found a very nice +2 fireball grey staff to make a leaf out of. I'm wondering if a Splendor runeword made from a good shrunken head can be better. Homunculus seems to mostly provide skills +2.
I've read up on some guides for such a build and most seem to suggest Homunculus as the BiS shield.
I maxed raise skele, skele mage, and skele mastery and really enjoy running around with an army 20+ strong. I'm currently trying to play a skeleton focused necro.
